Terms of Use

1. The service

WhereFUEL is a free map of fuel and charging stations. Station locations come from OpenStreetMap, fuel availability comes from drivers' reports, and in some countries prices come from official open data. The service is run by the operator of WhereFUEL, an independent project ("we", "us"). By using WhereFUEL you accept these terms.

2. Important: the information may be inaccurate

• Reports are made by drivers and may be outdated or wrong. Official prices are shown as published by their source and may differ from the price at the pump. Nothing in WhereFUEL is an offer, a guarantee or advice — check at the station.
• Do not use the app while driving. Follow traffic rules: ask a passenger or stop in a safe place.

3. Accounts

You can use the map without an account. Where login is offered, you can log in with Telegram, Google or Apple to report under your name. You must be at least 16 years old, or older if the law of your country requires it. Keep access to your login account safe. You can delete your WhereFUEL account at any time in the profile.

4. Reports

• Report what you saw yourself, at the station, recently.
• You keep the rights to your reports. You grant us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, display and distribute them within WhereFUEL and to use them in aggregated statistics, for as long as this is needed for the service.
• We may hide or delete content and limit accounts or devices that break these terms or the community rules. Automated tools help us detect abuse. You can contest a decision at support@wherefuel.com.

5. Community rules

Not allowed:

• false or deliberately misleading reports;
• spam, advertising and self-promotion;
• insults, threats, harassment and hate speech;
• personal data of other people (licence plates, faces, phone numbers);
• illegal content;
• manipulation of statuses or ratings (several accounts, bots, coordinated reports).

6. Reporting illegal content

Press and hold a driver's report (on a computer, right-click it) and choose "Report abuse", or write to support@wherefuel.com with the link to the station, the reason and your contact details. We review notices promptly, tell you our decision and explain it to the author of the content where we can reach them. Our single point of contact for users and authorities under the EU Digital Services Act is support@wherefuel.com; we communicate in English.

7. Acceptable use

Do not collect data from WhereFUEL automatically (scraping), overload or disrupt the service, circumvent its limits, reverse engineer it or use it for unlawful purposes.

8. Third-party data and services

• Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Map tiles: OpenFreeMap; in 2D mode, the OpenStreetMap tile server and Esri.
• Brand names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify stations.
• Official prices: from the sources named next to the prices, under their licences (for example, Licence Ouverte 2.0 in France and IODL 2.0 in Italy).
• Navigation and sharing open third-party apps and services, which have their own terms.

9. Availability

WhereFUEL is provided free of charge and "as is". We work to keep it available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation and may change or discontinue features.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on information in WhereFUEL (for example, a trip to a station that turned out to be closed) or for indirect damage. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent, gross negligence, harm to life or health, or mandatory consumer rights.

11. Ending use

You can stop using WhereFUEL and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts or block devices for serious or repeated violations of these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will show the date of the current version and announce significant changes in the app in advance.

13. Law and disputes

If you are a consumer, the mandatory laws of the country where you live apply to these terms, and you may bring a claim in its courts. Before going to court, please write to us: most questions can be solved quickly.
